2 T. corn syrup
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 loaf French bread, cut 1 inch thick, crusts removed
6 large eggs
2 c. milk
1 t. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 t. cinnamon
3-4 large tart apples, peeled and sliced

Directions:
Combine syrup, butter, and brown sugar in saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for several minutes until syrup-y. Pour into 9"x13" pan (the syrup will set up but will become soft again when baked.) Layer apples on top of syrup. Place bread on top of apples. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with syrup.
