1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 T. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 T. shortening
2/3 c. milk
2 cups hot vegetable oil
honey
cinnamon-sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt in a large mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles cornmeal. Add milk mixing just until dough holds together in a ball. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface, knead gently about 1 minute until smooth. Cover dough, let rest for 1 hour. Roll into 12 x 15 inch rectangle with a floured rolling pin, dough should be 1/16 to 1/8 inch thick. Cut into inch squares or 2 x 3 strips. Drop into hot oil. Turn to brown evenly on both sides. Drain on paper towel. Roll in cinnamon sugar or put honey inside puff.
