Mama Dupree's Meatballs Recipe

1 1/2 lbs. hamburger meat
1/2 bell pepper, chopped
1 1/2 c. celery, chopped
3/4 c. Minute rice
1 onion, chopped
2 eggs
2 c. cracker crumbs
black pepper
1 1/2 pints tomato juice
1 1/2 pints water
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
chili powder
1 tbsp. oil

Mix together meat, pepper, celery, onion, rice, eggs, cracker crumbs well. Add salt and pepper to taste. Make into balls about the size of a small egg.

In large pan combine tomato juice, water, sugar, black pepper, chili pepper and oil. When juice mixture boils drop in meat balls gently. Boil 30 minutes fast and then put lid on and simmer for 30 minutes. Do not stir.
