Spaghetti Sauce Recipe

Little Joe's


3 T Oil
1 med minced onion
2 T minced bell pepper
1 stalk chopped celery
1 minced garlic clove
1 - 1 lb 12 oz can whole tomatoes
1 - 1 lb 12 oz can tomato puree
1 T basil
1 tsp crushed oregano
1 bay leaf
1/2 cup dry red wine
1 cup water
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 T grated Parmesan cheese

Heat oil in large heavy pot. Add onion, bell pepper, celery and garlic. Saute until vegetables are tender. Chop the tomatoes and add to vegetables. Add remainder of ingredients, with the exception of the cheese. Simmer 1 hour. If sauce is too thick, add more water. When sauce is done, add cheese and mix well. Serve over pasta.
