1 lb. can kidney beans
1/4 lb. bacon
1 lg. onion, chopped
1/2 c. green pepper, diced
1 T. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. onion seasoning
1/4 tsp. salt
1 can tomatoes (I use a quart of my canned tomatoes)

Pour beans in strainer and rinse with cold water. Put in baking dish, then set aside. Fry bacon in skillet until crisp. Save 3 T. of fat. Add onion and green pepper. Cook until tender. Add tomatoes and seasoning. Add bacon that has been crumbled. Simmer a few minutes. Pour over beans. Cover. Bake 45 minutes in 350º oven.
