Directions:Preheat oven to 400º. Place parchment paper on baking sheet. In a large bowl sprinkle yeast over warm water. Gradually stir in sugar, salt and 1 3/4 cup flour. You should have a very soft and sticky dough. Knead on a well floured board or in machine for 5 -7 minutes add more flour to make a smooth and elastic dough. Cut dough into 8 pieces. Roll out into a 24 inch long rope. Starting at one end of the hotdog, wind dough around in a spiral to the top of the hot dog. If the rope isn't long enough, make the next one longer, if it is too long make the next one shorter. Dip each in the water/ baking powder mixture and place each dog on the parchment with plenty of space for the dough to rise. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes or until browned. Dip in mustard or Ketchup etc. |

Notes: Joanna and Justin worked at Auntie Annie's Pretzels for a summer where they learned how to make these. It is one of their favorite easy dinners. With salad and french fries you're done fast.
