1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 large bananas, mashed
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup ( or more ) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts (optional but better with )

Heat oven to 350º. Grease a loaf pan. Beat butter, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bow until fluffy and light. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in bananas and extract. On low gradually beat in flour until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Bake 60 - 65 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on rack for 5 minutes, then remove to cool completely
