1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
6 large eggs, separated
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 wineglass of brandy or wine
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 lb raisin
1 lb currants
1 cup chopped walnuts
1tsp cinnamon
1 tsp mace
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, and all spices. Add beaten egg whites and then egg yolks, juice of 1/2 lemon, wine and 1 cup flour. Mix 1/4 cup flour with fruit and nuts. Add fruit and mix well.
Paper line loaf pan and pour in mixture. Bake at 275 for 2 1/2 hours.
