1 cup water
1 cup grated beef kidney suet
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 rounded tsp. baking powder
1 cup bread crumbs

Variations: Molasses-1 cup molasses. 1 heaping tsp. mixed spices
Currant: 1 lb. currants. Juice and rind of 1 lemon
fruit:1 cup raisins, currants, and a little peel of lemon
mincemeat: Half a jar mincemeat
Marmalade: 1 cup marmalade and enough water to make a soft dough

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients. Cook in a bowl with a cloth, or just in a cloth. Cloth must be wet and floured. Steam for three hours.
