2 c flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 c milk *1 egg fat for frying
Combine the flour, salt, baking powder and soda. Stir in milk to form a soft dough. Roll out to 1/2" thick on a lightly floured board. Cut into diamond shapes with a sharp knife, then fry in hot fat until golden brown. Eat while hot. Serve with butter and jelly or with syrup. * add 1 egg to make this more of a fritter batter that you can add chopped fruit to.
