1 large onion, chopped
1 can mushrooms (drained)
2 1/2 lb. round (or sirloin) steak,cubed and trimmed
1 C flour (place in bag)
seasonings: salt, pepper, marjoram
Stir together and add
1 can mushroom soup
1 can beef consommé
1 bay leaf
1/2 C red wine
8 oz sour cream
Egg noodles or rice, cooked and drained.

Brown onions in vegetable oil.

Shake steak cubes in bag w/ flour and seasonings.
Brown steak in vegetable oil.

Cook browned steak and vegetables in large pot with soups, mushrooms, wine and bay leaf, covered over a low heat for 2 1/2 hours, stirring frequently.
Stir in sour cream.
Serve over hot noodles or rice.

If made ahead of time, do not boil when reheating
