1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
3 eggs (beaten separately)
1 c. baking molasses
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
1 c. boiling water (add last)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Mix in eggs, then molasses and dry ingredients. Add the water last. Bake in 9 x 13" cake pan. Bake at 350º for approx. 45 minutes.

My Aunt Mary Sutton made this gingerbread over the years but it was one of my mother's (Ann's) recipes. I believe some of the aunts made it but I don't know if it came from Grandma Conrad.
