1 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 T. shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
Flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together all ingredients, adding enough flour to make the mixture workable, not quite as stiff as pie dough. Roll out on floured area to 1/8 inch thick and cut into short strips. Drop strips into hot broth, cook over low heat for approximately 20 mins.
The broth mixture is 3 cans of chicken broth, 1 can cream of chicken soup, salt and pepper to taste, and cook in large pot.

This is a recipe Carolyn Phillips gave me, but it is a lot like the dumplings Granny Hall used to make for us, in fact, everytime I make them now, I think of her, she was a great cook.
