3/4 c. butter flavored Crisco
1 c. flour
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. raisins
3 c. quick oats
1 c, chopped walnuts

Combine 1st 5 in a large bowl. Beat at a medium speed till well combined. Combine the next 5 and mix into creamed mixture at low speed till just blended. Stir in raisins and walnuts. Drop by rounded TB., 2 in. apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake @ 375º for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool 2 minutes, then remove from pan to cool completely.

VARIATIONS: Half Dipped Cookies-- Omit raisins and nuts. Bake and cool. Microwave 1 c. fudge frosting for 20-25 seconds, or till smooth and thin. Dip top half of cookie into frosting. Lay on waxed paper until set. Favorite Chip Cookies---Omit raisins and walnuts. Add 1 c. baking chips to batter. Bake and cool. Maple Walnut Cookies---Omit raisins. Add 1 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring to dough. Bake and cool. Frost top of cooled cookie with mixture of one container of vanilla cake frosting and 1 tsp. maple flavoring. Garnish with a walnut half.
