Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
After the first time, I substituted Bacon bits for the real bacon. 1 lb. of bacon is unbelievably rich and delicious and fattening.

I found this recipe in a Farm Wife Magazine at my Aunt Ellen Robert’s house in Iowa back in the 1980’s. I have been making it ever since. And of course now I find versions of the recipe everywhere!

I never actually measure any of the salad ingredients; I just estimate and dump in to taste.

The longer the dressing marinates over the salad, the more flavorful the taste.
