3 c. half and half
1 onion
3 stalks celery
4 cloves garlic
4 pieces bacon
6-8 potatoes, peeled, cut into small pieces
10oz or more canned/fresh clams
2 pkgs potato flakes, plain

Directions:
Directions:
Rinse fresh clams thouroghly and boil in water until they pop open (4-5 minutes) Seperate clams from shells and put in small bowl, refrigerate. Strain clam juice through a double/triple layer cheese cloth 2-3 times. Pour into crockpot and add 2 more bottles of clam juice or a couple cans of canned clams (juice only, save clams).
Add small pieces of potatoes to crockpot, Fry up bacon, crumble and add to crockpot. Fry chopped onion, celery and garlic in bacon grease on low heat for 10-15 mintues, add to crockpot. Season with old bay, salt, pepper and whatever spices you like. Slow cook for the day. About 30 minutes before turning heat off, add 3 c. of half and half and clams, cook for 30 minutes and enjoy.
