"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Meaty Lean Beef Soup Bone or small Roast
3 qt. Water
1 tsp. dried Parsley
1/4 tsp. Thyme
1/4 tsp. Marjoram
Bay Leaf
10 whole Black Peppers
5 whole Cloves
1 T. Salt
1/2 c. each Onions, Carrots, Celery w/leaves, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat in pan. Then add water and all the ingredients above. Bring to a boil and gently boil for about 3 hours. Skim off the scum when it first comes to a boil. When it has cooked well, drain through a colander and use only the broth. If there seems to be fat on top, cool down and skim off the fat before making soup. Or place in refrigerator until cool and remove fat. Tear meat into small bite size pieces and add to broth along with potatoes, carrots, onions, celery, any other vegetable you wish. I like to add barley. Flavor with salt and pepper, if needed. Cook until vegetables are tender. We like dumplings made with Bisquick cooked on top. (Directions on box.)
