2 c sugar
3/4 c water
3 Tbsp butter
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, water, butter,and cream of tarter. Boil steadily to 254º ( or until a little tried in cold water forms a hard ball ) add vanilla. Stir well and pour onto buttered plate. Cool until it can be pulled turning the edges toward the middle so they will not become brittle. Pull until white and creamy, lightly buttering hands, stretch to a rope about one inch in diameter and cut with scissors into pieces. Wrap in waxed paper.
