1 lb. beef stew, cut in 1 in. cubes
1 T. shortening
1 16 oz. can petite tomatoes.
2 carrots, sliced lengthwise, then cut
crosswise into 1 in. pieces
1/2 c. sliced celery
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. water
1 c. (3 oz.) mostaccioli (small tube pasta)

Directions:
In large skillet, brown meat in hot shortening. Add tomatoes, carrots, celery, onion and seasonings. Cover and cook over low heat 30 min. Add water and uncooked mostaccioli. Bring to boiling. Pour into 2-qt. casserole. Cover and bake in 350º oven for 40 to 45 min. or till mostaccioli and meat are tender, stirring occasionally.
