1 carton (18 ounce) old-fashioned oatmeal (about 6 cups)
2/3 cup honey
1/3 cup packed light-brown sugar
¼ cup oil
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup shelled sunflower seeds
Optional: dried apricots, dried cherries, dried blueberries and sweetened dried cranberries for mixing with granola just before using.

Mix oatmeal, honey, brown sugar, oil, vanilla, cinnamon, almonds, and sunflower seeds and spread evenly on greased cookie sheets with sides or jelly roll pans. Bake 300 degree for 30 to 35 minutes until lightly brown. Stir after 20 minutes of baking. Remove from oven and immediately turn out onto large piece of foil. Cool. Break up larger pieces. Cover tightly. Store at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or freeze.
