2 cans Sauerkraut
1 med. Head of Cabbage
1 lb. Split Peas
5 med. to lg. Potatoes
Salt Pork
5 Onions

Squeeze juice out of sauerkraut.
Rinse lightly and squeeze again and put in pot.
Shred cabbage.
Add water (to 1/3 to 1/2 to cover cabbage).
Cook together for 45 min. to 1 hr.
Add salt.
Put split peas with potatoes and boil until potatoes are soft.
Mash peas and potatoes together.
Put salt pork in frying pan with chopped onions until golden brown.
Add split peas and potatoes.
Leave a little juice from salt pork and add four (brown) to thicken Kalpusta.
