4 C. shredded red cabbage
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. water
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. caraway seed

Heat drippings in skillet; add remaining ingredients and dash pepper. Cover tightly; cook over low heat, stirring occasionally. For crisp cabbage, cook 15 minutes; for tender 25-30 minutes.
