Ingredients: 1 lb lean ground beef 1 lb hot Italian sausage 1 medium sized jar of roasted red peppers 1 medium onion (chopped) 2 15 oz cans of tomato sauce 2 8 oz cans of tomato saue 1 can S & W Petite Cut Italian Syle Tomatoes 1 can S & W Tomatoes with roasted garlic and onion 3 Tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil 3 Tbs fresh chopped garlic 2 Tbs parsley (dried) 1 tsp basil 1 tsp oregano 3 Tbs chili powder (more if you like it really spicy) 1/2 tsp red pepper (cayenne) 1 tsp black pepper salt to taste

Directions:Place olive oil in a large, heavy pot or dutch oven. On medium heat saute the fresh garlic just until it starts to sizzle in the pan. Add the italian sausage and ground beef. Brown both meats until cooked through. While the meat is cooking, blend in a blender the roasted red peppers and canned tomatoes. Once meat is cooked, add the pepper/tomato mixture and bring to a steady simmer. Add the herbs and all spices. Continue to simmer on medium to low heat for approx. 2 hours. |
