2 slices bacon
2 cups milk
1 onion, chopped
3-4 potatoes pared & diced
water
1 or 2 c fresh clams or 7oz can
salt & pepper

In a heavy skillet fry bacon. Put milk to heat in a double boiler. When pork is browned remove and sit aside. To the fat in a skillet add onion, let simmer until soft. Dice pork or bacon add with diced potatoes. Barely cover with water, cover and cook until tender. If using fresh clams grind coarsely in food copper or cut up with scissors. Whether fresh or canned add clams with their liquid to the milk and let heat. When the potatoes are tender add hot milk and clams. Season to taste, heat just to boiling.
