1 c. flour
2 T. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. milk
3 T. oleo, melted
2 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites
1/2 c. shredded, peeled apple
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
Syrup ingredients:
1/4 c. sugar
4 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 c. apple juice

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, combine dry pancake ingredients. In another bowl combine; milk, oleo and vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients. Beat egg whites until stiff in small bowl. Fold in apple and walnuts, fold into batter in large bowl. Pour by 1/4 cup onto lightly greased hot griddle. To make apple syrup; combine sugar, cornstarch and allspice in medium saucepan, add apple juice. Cook over medium heat until thickened, 6-8 minutes. Serve over hotcakes.
