4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 stick butter
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 large eggs at room temperature
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Chocolate frosting or confectioners sugar (optional)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9 x 13-inch pan. Melt chocolate and butter in microwave and set bowl in ice water to cool. Beat eggs and vanilla together and add sugar. Stir in cooled chocolate/butter mixture. Stir in flour until just combined. Stir in nuts until just combined. Scrape batter into pan and spread to edges. Bake until center is almost firm when lightly touched and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 25 minutes. cool on rack until completely cool. Frost with chocolate frosting or cover lightly with confectioner's sugar from a flour sifter.
