2 lbs ground round
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 Tbs chili powder
2 medium onions diced small
1/2 green pepper diced small (optional)
1 qt canned tomatoes and if you are not lucky enough to have Norma's canned tomatoes, substitute with 2 large cans of Hunt's diced tomatoes
2 15 oz cans of Bush's chili hot beans (they are actually not spicy hot)

In a large sauce pan, brown ground round. Add chopped onion, green pepper (if desired), salt, pepper, and chili powder. Stir well and cook over medium heat for 5-10 minutes while stirring. Now add tomatoes and beans. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer and cook for 30-45 minutes. Top with grated cheese, sour cream, and chopped sweet onion if desired. Don't forget the crackers!
