Ingredients: Spaghetti - enough for your family, cooked. 1-2 lbs browned, drained hamburger meat (how meaty do you like it... or how strained is your budget? dried minced onion...to taste prepared minced garlic (or you can do your own) Italian spices (I buy it premixed in huge containers) 29 ounce (or so) tomato sauce salt and pepper
OR: 1 large jar prepared Italian spaghetti sauce.. your favorite

Directions:Version 1. Fry that hamburger meat with onion and garlic. After you drain it, add in the tomato sauce and spice. Salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer on low for a bit, til flavors blend.
Pour over the cooked, drained spaghetti.
Version 2. Fry hamburger with onion and garlic. Drain. Pour in your prepared spaghetti sauce. Let simmer til flavors blend. Pour over spaghetti. Oh, don't forget salt and pepper.
Version 3. OH.... add a little cayenne pepper to that for zing.
Version 4. Use Italian sausage and bell pepper...ummm.
Version 5. OK...use your imagination...add mushrooms, or spinach, or whatever!!!! Very versatile.
How easy is that?
Serve with garlic bread or crusty french bread. |

Notes: My mother makes it the first way. And I do if I'm not rushed. If I am running behind, I use version 2. I usually buy the cheapest Italian prepared sauce in a can and keep several cans for emergencies. This is good when people show up unexpectedly, case you can make a bunch quickly.
