1 cup shorting
2 teaspoons Vanilla
2 eggs (Beaten)
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 heaping teaspoon baking soda
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven at 400 degrees

In large bowl add baking soda and buttermilk.
Add salt, sugar, beaten eggs, shorting and vanilla and mix together.
Now mix the flour in a little at a time.
Roll dough mixture out (may want to add flour so that it does not stick) and cut into cookie shapes.
Cook at 400 degrees until the bottom is slightly brown.
