3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. soft shortening or soft butter
1 egg well beaten
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp flavoring
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
2 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Combine egg, sugar, and shortening and beat . Add sifted dry ingredients and stir in the milk mixed with the flavoring. Mix thoroughly. Cover bowl and chill for 45 min. Using as little flour as possible roll out the cookies. Cutting them not less than 3/8" thick. Sprinkle with sugar and place on lightly greased cookie sheet at least 1" apart. Bake in a hot oven 375º or 400º or 5-8 min.
