3/4 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1 c. chopped nuts
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
For top:
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
1/4 c. cocoa

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together sugar, flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa. Stir in milk and shortening, mix until smooth. Add nuts and spread in pan. Sprinkle with mixture of brown sugar, white sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Pour 1 3/4 c. hot water over entire batter. Bake. Invert squares on plates and dip sauce from pan over each. Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350º. Can be served hot or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
