2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup liquid honey
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3 tbsp milk
1 cup raisins or currants if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients three times. Cream shortening with honey and sugar until light and fluffy. Add beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture. Fold in raisins or currants, if desired.

Drop from teaspoon about the size of a walnut onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven 375º F for 10 - 12 minutes or until done.

Spicy and so-good. Cookies are good keepers - if you have a good hiding place for them.
