1/2 stick oleo
2 medium onion, diced
1 ham bone or small ham shank end
2 cups dried split peas
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp celery salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp onion salt
8 cups cold water
3 cups hot milk
1 cup milk with 2 tbsp flour added

Directions:
Directions:
melt butter, add onions and cook until tender, add ham bone and next 7 ingredients, cover, cook on low heat for 2 hours
remove bone, add 1 cup water, cut off ham, dice and add to soup with hot milk and flour mixture, simmer for 30 minutes
