4 c. canned whole tomatoes (2 lrg. cans)
4 c. tomato juice with vegetable stock or V-8 will do
12-14 fresh basil leaves
1 c. heavy cream
1/4 lb. (1 stick) sweet unsalted butter
Salt to taste

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan heat all the ingredients. Simmer tomatoes and juice for 3 minutes. Puree with the basil leaves in a food processor or blender. Return the mixture back to the stockpot. Add heavy cream, and butter and salt. Stir on low. Garnish with basil leaves. May add garlic to taste.
