3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 box (1 lb.) powdered sugar
1 cup crisco shortening
4 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp. flavoring, if desired (e.g., vanilla, almond, lemon or orange extract)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour 9 or 10 inch tube pan. Sift (or just mix) flour, baking powder and salt together. Mix sugar, shortening and eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Add flour and milk alternately to sugar shortening mixture. Pour into tube pan and bake for one hour or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from pan immediately and cool on wire rack.
