2 cups sugar
1 scant cup corn syrup
1 cup cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Cook until crackles, or reaches hard crack stage on thermometer. Add raw peanuts (as many as desired, about 1/2 lb.) and cook until it begins to smoke. Remove from fire and add 2 teaspoon's of baking soda, and hold over flame until it becomes a pretty brown, stirring constantly. Pour onto well-greased platter or cookie tin.
