1/2 c. shortening or butter
2 c. self-rising flour
1 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 TBSP sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening, flour and sugar until it looks like course meal. Mix soda and buttermilk. Stir buttermilk mixture into dry mixture just until blended. Roll out to 1/2 " thickness. Cut into biscuits and bake at 425º for 12 - 15 minutes.
