4-5 lbs Corned Beef Brisket
8 carrots- pared
8 potatoes- pared
1 head of cabbage-- cut into 8 wedges
1 clove garlic
2 whole cloves
2 bay leaves
10 peppercorns

Directions:
Directions:
IN 8 quart sauce pan, cover beef with water.
Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes-- then skim fat off.
Add garlic, peppercorns, cloves and bay leaves.
Simmer covered 3 hrs.
Add potatoes and carrots for the last 35 minutes.
Add cabbage for the last 20 min.
