3 c unbleached flour
2 tbsp baking powder
6 tbsp cold butter, diced into little pieces
½ tsp salt
4 tbsp sugar
1 c milk or half and half

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt; blend in cold butter;

Mix in milk and knead dough lightly till smooth.

Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into rounds. Place 1 inch apart on baking sheet, brush with cream.

Bake at 400º for 15-20 minutes or till golden brown. Cool on wire rack.

Serve with honey butter, jam, lemon curd

*You can add chives and cheddar cheese to the dough to make a savory scone.
