6 medium potatoes
4 T. butter or margarine, in pieces
4-8 T. milk
Salt and pepper to taste

Peel and quarter potatoes, then cook, covered in boiling lightly salted water for 20-25 minutes or until tender. Drain and put into serving bowl. Add butter/margarine and salt and pepper to taste. Mash with a potato masher or hand mixer at low speed. Gradually beat in enough milk to make it light and fluffy.

The Cindy version would add more butter.

Can also add roasted garlic and/or sour cream, but reduce milk if adding sour cream so not too liquidy.
