1c. sugar
1c. powdered sugar
1c. margarine
1c. oil
2 eggs (well beaten)
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
5 1/4 c. flour

Mix altogether. Make into balls. Dip glass in flour and flatten cookies. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes

I remember every time we went to visit Gr. Grandpa and Grandma Elder, she would go to the kitchen and get a glass jar out of the cupboard with these cookies in it. Seems like they were crunchy and a little stale. But to a little girl they tasted pretty good.
