1 stick of butter- softened
2 eggs
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
4 c flour
1 1/2 c buttermilk
1 c raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar and eggs until fluffy, add all dry ingredients, buttermilk and the raisins last. Mix and let rise for 5 minutes. Place in greased heavy baking pan ( I use a cast iron frying pan) and bake for 40 minutes at 350º until brown and knife inserted comes out clean.
