Store bought or homemade pie crust

Filling:
4 cups cherries (canned or jarred), drained- save 1 cup juice
1 c sugar
3 Tbls tapioca or cornstarch
1 Tbls lemon juice
1 tsp almond extract

Crumb Topping:
2/3 c flour
2/3 cup light brown sugar
2/3 cup chopped nuts- (Almonds, pecans)
5 Tbls butter
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all the filling ingrediants and let stand for 15 min. Then pour into pie shell.

For crumb topping:
Mix together with your hands till crumbly. Sprinkle over cherry mixture in pie crust until all the cherries are covered.

Bake pie at 425 for 30 min. Slip a sheet pan under to catch juices, lower to 350 and bake till juices thicken, about 25 min.
