There are many different ways to cook asparagus. Before you start cooking, you need to know how to prepare it. The end of the stock is tough. Simple grasp the stock on the tough end and bend it until it breaks. Now you can start cooking it!

Oven Roast:
Lay out the stocks in a single layer on a jelly roll pan. Sparingly drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the stocks. Sprinkle on salt and pepper. Toss them around a little until they are evenly coated. Put in a 450 oven for about 5-10 minutes, checking periodically until sizzling and starting to brown. You may need to shake the pan from time to time for even cooking.

Grill:
Prepare the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper like above. Place in a foil pouch and cook on the grill for 10-15 minutes. Shake the pouch periodically.

Steam:
Place a steamer basket in a pan and add water to just below the basket. Add salt to the water. Place the asparagus in the steamer basket. Put a lid on the pot and let them steam for about 10-15 minutes, depending on how dense you want it. When done, add a few dabs of butter, salt, and pepper.
