1 cup finely chopped nuts
1 cup sifted flour
dash salt
1/2 cup corn syrup light or dark
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
2/3 cup brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the nuts and flour, set aside
Pour corn syrup in saucepan, add butter, shortening and brown sugar
Place over direct heat and bring to boiling point.
Remove immediately from heat.
Add flour and nuts
Gradually drop rounded teaspoonful on greased baking sheet 3 inches apart to allow for spreading.
Bake at 325 for 8-10 mins, until light brown. Cook 1 min. Remove carefully with spatula. If desired, cookies may be rolled into cone shape while warm.

Note: follow directions carefully, do not leave or add anything. Do not be alarmed when dough is very loose.
