1 lb. butter
1 lb. confectioner's sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups cake flour (Swans flour or Softasilk)
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Have all your ingredients at room temperature. Cream butter and powdered confectioner's sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Blend in flour 1/2 cupful at a time. Stir in nuts.
Pour batter into 2 large greased loaf pans. For an electric oven, bake at 275º for 1 hour and 10 minutes. For gas stove, bake at 300º for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes
