2 1/2 cups flour (plain)
1/2 cup crisco or margarine
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
3/4 cup buttermilk or sour milk**

Directions:

** add 2 TBSP vinegar to sour the milk

Mix flour sugar, salt and crisco as for pie crust. Save 3/4 cup mixture for top crumbs. To remainder add all the other ingredients. Stir until blended, do not over beat. Pour into 9x13 well greased pan. Bake at 400 for 25-30 mins.

Mom made this for us ALOT, and always credited Dad's mom, Marie Smith for the recipe. I remember eating it on Sunday mornings with our eggs. Sunday morning was "egg breakfast", right?
