8 large onions sliced thin (cuisinart); white onions are best
6 Tbsp butter or oil
6 c. beef broth (water with beef bouillon cubes or crystals to taste. beef paste better than bouillon)
French bread
Gruyere or Swiss cheese
Romano or Asiago cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions in butter until brown in color. Add onions to beef broth. Serve piping hot into a bowl; cover with a slice of french bread and a slice of gruyere or Swiss cheese. Sprinkle Romano or Asiago cheese on top.
