Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 Eggs
1 cup Sugar
3 tbsp Melted Shortening or Oil
3 cups Flour
4 tsps Baking Powder
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Salt
1 cup Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, oil. Add beaten eggs. Then add flour which has been mixed with salt and baking powder. Add a little flour at a time then milk and repeat until all is mixed. Then add vanilla.
The dough should be that when you put in on the spoon, and push it off with another spoon, it drops off easy and has hanging dough and that gives those spread out legs or whatever. If you need to add a couple of more spoons of flour to make it the right consistency do so.

Use Crisco or some other shortening (about 2 pounds). Or for a double order I use 3 pound can. The shortening should be about 365º

Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Note from Marie: These are the most delicious drop doughnuts. Aunt Bea and my Mom (Grandma Evie) made them at a festival in Fallbrook. Out of all the booths at the festival they brought in the most money with their drop doughnuts. People were in line by the dozens waiting for these fabulous treats. Especially delicious just made and warm. We always looked forward to holidays when we KNEW either Grandma Evie or Aunt Bea would made them. This are little round cake donuts with little dough legs that form once when are dropped into the oil. People would say they looked like little 'sputniks'.
