Ingredients: 1 cup milk 1 stick butter 1/2 cup sugar 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour, sifted 1 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs, beaten 2 pkgs. dry yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and dash of sugar.

Directions:Scald first3 ingredients in pan and place in large mixing bowl. Sift together 4 1/2 cups flour with 1 1/2 teas salt and 1/2 teas mace in another bowl. Beat 2 eggs in a separate bowl. Mix 2 packs dry yeast and 1/2 cup warm water in a coffee cup. Now add the flour mix to the milk mix. Then add the eggs and then the yeast. Turn onto a well floured board and gently knead for 5 minutes. After kneading-turn into a well greased bowl and cover with a towel-let double in size. Then make your desired recipe-crescent rolls-cloverleaf rolls, sticky buns, or kuchen.
After making your desired recipe, let it rise again and finally bake at 375º for about 10 minutes or longer |

Notes: This recipe will make the following:3/4 dough= 11x17 pan. 1/4 dough =1 wreath with slashed top OR 1/2 dough= 18 sticky buns and 1/2 dough= 2- 9inch round tea rings To make a glaze for kuchen use confectioners sugar, vanilla, and boiling water. To make a crumb topping-mix 1 cup flour, 3 T sugar, & 1/3 stick butter. Rub it through your hands to mix and sprinkle over and bake.
